Brand: sacai x Nike

Model: Zoom Cortez

Release Date: December 13

Price: $180

Buy: Nike's SNKRS

Editor’s Notes: sacai and Nike just tipped the scale — the grey scale, that is.

Official images of sacai's grey Nike Zoom Cortez sneaker collaboration have arrived, thanks to the Swoosh itself.

Looking at the photos, the sacai x Nike Zoom Cortez "Iron Grey" is basically identical to the collab's "OG" colorway, aside from a sort of gloomy paint job.

Like its merrier counterpart, the collaborative grey Zoom Cortez gets its own dose of sacai's signature twinning treatment. From the Swoosh to the spongey tongue to even the sneaker's laces, sacai tastefully duplicates the OG Cortez's once singular features.

Indeed, this isn't the first time sacai had Nike seeing double, lest we forget the LDWaffle and VaporWaffle projects.

Essentially, twinning design has become sacai designer Chitose Abe's way of autographing her Nike collabs, in addition to the less-visible sacai branding.

The sacai x Nike Zoom Cortez collab blessed the sneaker world with its presence in January during the Japanese brand's Fall/Winter 2022 presentation.

Being an immense Cortez fan, it's satisfying to see the shoe receiving well-deserved attention. After all, it is the model's 50th birthday!

First, we had Union LA's impressive eco-friendly take on the Cortez. Now, I'm excited to sacai's Nike Cortez 4.0 hit the streets. Speaking of, do we know what happened to 2.0 and 3.0?

Though I hoped we'd get an early delivery, the sacai x Nike Zoom Cortez "Iron Grey" sneakers are finally arriving on December 13 (deets up top).

L's are undoubtedly pending if the forthcoming drop is anything like past hyped sacai x Nike drops. In that case, sacai's Cortez sneakers won't be the only thing feeling grey on release day.
