“Less Than Zero House” Designed by John Lautner on Sale for $7.5M

A stunning Hollywood residence designed by one of the greats of contemporary architecture – John Lautner – has just gone on sale. Affectionately dubbed “Silvertop,” on account of its unmistakable curved roof, the property shot to stardom as the set for 1987 film Less Than Zero, which starred a young Robert Downey Jr. and an even younger Brad Pitt. Featuring a dramatic cantilevered concrete driveway, stunning panoramic windows and one of the world’s first ever infinity pools, it’s quite a house to look at. What’s really getting prospective buyers excited, however, is the price. While $7.5 million might sound a lot to most regular people, other properties designed by Lautner have fetched up to $50 million, so this is a relative bargain to the lucky buyer who snaps it up. Time to start counting those pennies.
