Before you get too excited, you should note that this cliffside retreat in Iceland is simply a concept by designer Alex Hogrefe. A founding member of the architecture visualization studio Design Distill, Hogrefe specializes in visualizing the plans of architects through illustration. This time around, however, he took matters into his own hands and created this incredible residence from scratch.

Taking views to a whole new level, the fictional retreat is constructed out of what seems to be concrete, metal and glass. The floor-to-ceiling windows and open balcony allow for optimal natural light (which is much needed in the winter months), and offer up stunning views of the North Atlantic and Arctic Oceans.
