Where the runway meets the street

Saturdays NYC are gearing up to release their new Fall/Winter 2016 collection, as they have provided us with the official lookbook for the delivery. In evoking a darker, moodier feeling for the season, the label has chosen to utilize rich shades of oxblood, navy, and jade to juxtapose foundations of ivory and charcoal.

Signature styles have been updated, as the Panos pant has been done up in Japanese wool, while Pima cotton tees, heavy french terry sweats and pinpoint oxford shirting have in turn been garment-dyed to provide subtle variations. Cashmere-blend sweaters are introduced into the mix for fall and winter, optioned in varying weight and neck styles.

As far as standouts go, Saturdays NYC presents the new Nathan fishtail parka with a removable liner, the Morgan bonded-wool top coat, and the Prima Loft category, including a reversible, collarless jacket and vest. The brand has also gathered inspiration from vintage pieces such as the Viktor full zip inspired by bomber flight jackets, all while showcasing the new Polar Fleece series. These pieces include a number of button-down shirts, denim, trousers, tees, shorts and accessories.

Saturdays doesn’t just limit their new offerings to apparel, however. They also present two new all-weather footwear options. The Rick boot and the updated Ali oxford are highlighted, both in coated leather with a lug sole. The Vass and Derek leather sneaker styles then note a marble sole detail this season, while the classic Jay, Vass and Mike sneakers arrive in smart ivory, black and grey suedes. Finally, a new version of the brand’s Mike sneaker completes the footwear delivery, as it is offered up in a fresh low-top iteration.

Pebbled leather and waxed suede zip pouches, wallets and cardholders then act as accessory complements to the remainder of Saturdays NYC’s FW16 delivery.

Saturdays also recently linked with MR PORTER for an exclusive SS16 capsule which is available now.
