Japanese photographer Izumi Miyazaki started sharing her work on Tumblr in 2012 and as her audience grew it became a personal creative project she worked on while studying photography.

Miyazaki’s surrealist self-portraits are simultaneously humorous and perplexing, and she cites American photographer Alex Prager and René Magritte as inspirations. Working with everything from leaves to butterflies to bread as props, her colorful sets and photo manipulation bring fantasy to life. Izumi Miyazaki is the only character in the dream world.
