The Converse Jack Purcell collection celebrates its 75th anniversary in Fall 2010. Referencing the 1930s with updated silhouettes and early 20th century techniques, Converse re-launches the original Johnny shoe (pictured above), as well as offering the standard JP in brogued and garment dyed options. All of the shoes in this collection also include premium linings and comfort foot beds, alongside the iconic smiling toe.

In related news, there will be a Jack Purcell Pop-up Shop at the NYC Saks Fifth Avenue location from September 2 – September 19, 2010. Copies of the “Smile If You’re a Player” photo book shot by Todd Selby will be provided as a gift with purchase. On September 10, 2010 Converse will be hosting a special Jack Purcell photo booth during Fashion Night Out from 7PM – 10PM.

With years of collective manufacturing under their belts, Reigning Champ found themselves sitting on a surplus of fabric. So what did they do? Produce a series of black hoodies with colored hoods. A simple solution, and a great reuse of material. Available this fall at select retailers.

As previewed previously, Vans Vault and Knoll Textiles are engaging in a second round of collaborative sneakers for Fall 2010. The pack features Mountain Editions and Authentics in a balanced mix of premium suede and Knoll Textiles fabrics. Solid releases. Now in stock at select accounts including St. Alfred and Bows & Arrows.

NY shop Extra Butter pulled the covers off two great patent leather based Air Force 1s earlier this year, and now they’re back with a third. “WOW! Okay, so first we had the black patent, then the cranberry patent, now the “gorge green” has arrived, and you guessed it… they are GORGEous! Couldn’t resist the pun, and can’t resist these new pair of forces either.”

This mid version of the iconic ZX800 running shoe by adidas, is reminiscent of the popular ZX700 boat shoe, with a combination of classic runner and moccasin detailing. This limited Casual series version focuses on premium materials and production, with some great details. It will be released for Fall/Winter 2010 in two colorways and is now up for pre-order from End. The silhouette is actually not looking bad, but we are not very happy with the colorways offered in this first release.

Rad Collector had a first look at this Bob Marley board back in February, but today Burton has officially announced their collaborative Marley & Co Whammy Bar Snowboard.

Key features of the new Whammy Bar Marley board include a simulated wood-grain topsheet layered with a series of classic photos from Bob Marley’s family archives. The images reflect his love for family, music and life. In addition, the base of the board features a powerful graphic showcasing the traditional Lion of Judah integrated with the colors of the Rasta flag and Burton branding.

Available this season as part of the Burton Restricted collection.

For Holiday 2010 the popular Nike Blazer Hi SP returns in three new colorways. While the base color on the upper is kept rather simple, color hits on the sole and lining set the accents. Also all three sneakers come with a special tongue tag. Look out for a release in October at Crooked Tongues and other retailers.

Today the new “Vexhall” exhibition by American artist Michael Leon opens its doors at Pool Gallery in Berlin. We took the chance and checked out the show prior to its opening.

The artist has been fascinated with flags since his childhood and as such has made them the sole focus of this new show. Elements from original flag design are mixed with Leon’s own design sensibility and personal history. Make sure to pass by the exhibition, should you be in Berlin these days.
