While the community has been divided over the COMME des GARÇONS HOMME PLUS x Nike Foamposite – specifically its price tag – Kid Cudi and Kanye West have stepped out to show the collaborative silhouette some love.

If you live in the UK or Europe, it wouldn't be surprising if you were totally unfamiliar with the Air Foamposite. The sneaker certainly has its own cult following, but its popularity is largely concentrated in the States.

Originally launched in 1997, the Foamposite upper made from polyurethane liquid, was initially designed for use on the basketball court thanks to its ability to mold to the foot. At the time, the sneaker was one of the most daring silhouettes on the market, and over the years, has been decked out in a series of neck-snapping, graphics-heavy finishes.

The hype around the silhouette has largely died down – it's unlikely that you'll see a pair of Foams fetch the hefty resale prices they used to – but with CdG's unique take, we're left wondering if the hype may bubble back up to the surface.

Well, it looks like the blacked-out pair certainly has the G.O.O.D Music alumni seal of approval. Kid Cudi was recently spotted courtside at a Lakers game sporting the as-of-yet unreleased pair, while Kanye — who works with adidas, remember — laced off an all-black 'fit in a pair of his own.

While most find it difficult to justify the shoe's hefty price tag, which Nike says is due to its new mold, fanfare for the sneakers release has clearly hit a fever pitch.
