Following rumors of a $70 million stand-up deal, Eddie Murphy stars in Netflix's new original film about influential comedian/actor/musician Rudy Ray Moore, better known as Dolemite. Murphy plays Moore in Dolemite Is My Name, which comes to Netflix and select theaters this fall.

Hoping to make it big in showbiz, floundering comedian Rudy Ray Moore (Murphy) comes up with a new persona that is sure to get him recognized. Enter, Dolemite, a pimp with a generous repertoire of obscene tales. Things begin to take a positive turn for Moore when he links with a social justice-minded dramatist (Keegan-Michael Key) to write a film for Dolemite, involving Kung Fu and high-speed car chases. The movie goes on to become a box office success, widely recognized as a defining movie of the Blaxploitation era.

Wesley Snipes, Mike Epps, Craig Robinson, Tituss Burgess, Kodi Smit-McPhee, Snoop Dogg, Ron Cephas Jones, Barry Shabaka Henley, Tip '"TI" Harris, Luenell, and Tasha Smith also star in Dolemite Is My Name, which is directed by Craig Brewer (Hustle & Flow, Empire). Again, the movie comes to Netflix and select theaters this fall.
