Havaianas

Havaianas has tapped luxury Japanese streetwear label mastermind JAPAN for a capsule collaboration that puts a fun twist on pool-side style.

The collab builds on the brands' previous link-up, which dropped in 2020. This time, the labels have opted for louder, head-turning designs. The new slides arrive in two colorways — black and orange — and feature a high-relief skull design on the upper. Of course, the shoes are heavily branded with both imprints and, depending on how bold you want to go, can be styled with or without socks.

“Our first collab with Mastermind was a success and we are really excited about this new launch. This second drop combines comfort and style, and it is the first collab in which we feature the slide shape. Our first drop in 2020 was very special and we are certain that this one will be too, once again," states Maria Fernanda Albuquerque, Havaianas Global Marketing VP.

The first iteration riffed on Havaianas OG flip flop model, Top, and introduced a new shape, the Tradi Zori. The shoes were done up in the monochrome colorway mastermind JAPAN is known for.

On the partnership, Masaaki Homma, mastermind JAPAN's founder says: "We always like Havaianas as it’s the most iconic and beloved flip flop brand worldwide. The new collaborative shape with Havaianas this year is a winner that emphasizes style and convenience across different wearing scenarios, without compromising chicness and comfort. We look forward to this collaboration that strives to shift slides from the stereotype to a new context in streetwear.”

The new slides are available in Asia, Europe, and the USA at havaianas.com.
