Where the runway meets the street

On a stage hand-painted to resemble the NASA maps of the Atacama Desert, blue and earth tones of the same color walked the runway for Louis Vuitton Fall/Winter 2014. Peruvian stripes and exotic furs were big themes, with alpaca, shearling and cashmere used for coats, blousons, parkas and anoraks. The French house delivered a collection that ran the wide range from clean suits to tough-weather gear, like hiking boots and explorer sunglasses. Interestingly, models were styled with chunky jewelry in the form of necklaces and metallic rings, along with LV’s signature check leather goods in their seasonal blue.
