Eminem is making his long-awaited return to the big screen — sort of — courtesy of a new film dubbed Bodied. It's been 15 years since Marshall Mathers gave us a look inside his rap battle upbringing in Eight Mile, but this time around, Em will remain behind the camera, as opposed to in front of it.
With Eminem serving as a producer, Bodied is being touted as an "exploration of the world's most artistically brutal sport," complete with an overall satirical portrayal of race relations in the United States.
Below we find the initial trailer for the picture, which centers around a timid young rapper, MC Goggles, who is trying his hand and underground rap battling. Upon going up against an undeniably outspoken Megaton, Goggles is straight ripped to shreds by a myriad of insults pertaining to race, culture and appropriation.
Charlemagne tha God, Debra Wilson, Anthony Michael Hall, Shoniqua Shandai, Alter Perez, Rory Uphold, Jackie Long and Callum Worthy all star in the film, directed by Joseph Kahn, which is slated to premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival September 7.
