All it took was a Kaia Gerber moment for Bode to announce a release date for its anticipated Nike collaboration.

During a cloudy day in the big city, the model-actress got some steps in, carried out a FaceTime call, and casually flexed Bode's unreleased Nike sneakers simultaneously — a multitasking slay, if you will.

Gerber wore a relatively calm look, including a long dark coat, black trousers, and a black colorway of Bode's Nike Astro Grabber shoes. But even the quiet Bode x Nike sneaker stood out to a sneaker lover like myself.

Gerber appears to be the first to sport the buttery retro Nike sneakers in the wild, following Bode's campaign teasers and previews of other extra-breathable versions. The Gerber co-sign led Bode to share the model's Nike Astro Grabber outfit on its Instagram account...and reveal the collaboration's official release date in the same breath.

"Kaia Gerber in the Astro Grabber…available at 11:59 PM EST on April 18th," Bode captioned its IG post featuring a cheesing Gerber in the sneakers. Bode fans, say thank you to Gerber.

In 2023, rumors of Bode and Nike's collaboration made their way around the internet, discussing the possibility of Bode reviving Nike's football-focused Astro Grabber shoe (plus some collaborative clothing pieces).

Bode's Fall/Winter 2024 preview rolled around at the top of 2024, offering up first looks at its Nike Astro Grabber sneaker in semi-shiny black leather and cleated rubber outsoles.

After unveiling the leathery Nike sneaker, Bode later revealed a second Astro Grabber colorway in a meshy off-white. Both sneakers are equipped with playful trinkets like baseball and lobster charms.

For those who have been eagerly awaiting the Bode x Nike collab, Bode advises fans to register for more information and exclusive access on Bode's website. After the April 18 launch, Bode's Nikes are also expected to be available at the Swoosh and select retailers sometime in May.

After a lengthy wait, Bode x Nike season is on the horizon.
