The Air Jordan 4 sneaker is having quite the year, from long-awaited revivals to "new year, new me" makeovers. Yep, Nike has some new versions of the Jordan 4 coming out this year, most notably the launch of the Air Jordan 4 RM sneaker.

What does RM mean, you may ask? The mystery remains. (Remix? Remastered? Really, Man?). Nevertheless, the Jordan 4 RM model is already making noise in sneaker group chats, and it's not even out yet.

Official looks at the Jordan 4 RM have landed on the sneaker 'net, though, igniting reactions from longtime Jordan fans over the brand-new look, a rather chunky departure from the OG we've loved for the last 36 years. At the same time, we are talking about a remixed model here, so changes are expected.

The Air Jordan 4 RM shoe ditches a few classic details, like the netted caging and unforgettable shoelace eyelets. The classic "Wings" and heel tab aren't as we remember them, either. They are now more refined details.

The Jordan 4 RM offers some nifty textures, such as creamy leather and slightly fuzzy suede. Seemingly meshy moments strike around the tongue, while the collar looks even more comfy than ever (definitely a plus).

As we've seen with earlier leaks, the remastered Jordan 4 shoes sits pretty low, almost like a genuine Air Jordan 4 Low. But again, this is part of the remastered plan.

As for the overall shape, the Jordan 4 RM sneaker is pretty thick. The new chunked-up design echoes the feels of earlier skate shoes. One commenter even called them "what the Jordan 4 SB should have been," referencing the extremely sought-after "Pine Green" collab from 2023.

Some moments stay true to the AJ4 DNA, of course. For starters, Nike Air naturally flows through the new model's soles, much like the OG shoe.

No Bike Air here, but there are plenty of classic Nike Air and Jumpman stamps throughout the sneaker, including a textural branded badge on the reimagined tongue.

In its soon-come debut, the Air Jordan 4 RM sneaker is set to receive some pretty solid colorways, including a "Canyon Rust," "Green," and "Black/Light Bone" scheme.

Nigel Sylvester apparently gave the latter option a BMX welcome earlier this year, followed by a reveal of his own buzzy spin on the new Jordan 4 model.

Like Sylvester's highly-anticipated RMs, the general release colorways are expected to slide in sometime during Summer 2024.

What more can I say? Here's to a summer of beefy remixed Jordans.
