Brain Dead’s Clarks Originals collaboration is as offbeat as you’d expect of the zany creative collective. Not only has Brain Dead taken on the Desert Nomad silhouette, one of Clarks’ lesser-known shoes, it’s done so in that typically eye-catching Brain Dead way.

For starters, Brain Dead has dressed the Creeper-like Desert Nomad in textured cow-printed pony hair. While down below, the shoe sits atop a chunky black outsole made of Clarks’ now epochal crepe material.

As if a patchy brown and white Clarks Desert Nomad wasn’t enough of a look for Brain Dead, the brand has also added a patch of green to the heel that matches the shoe’s colorful branded hangtags.

The fact Brain Dead, a brand known for its unconventional designs, chose Clarks’ Desert Nomad to collaborate on is hardly surprising.

While brands like Aimé Leon Dore, Stüssy, and Supreme have all followed the status quo by taking on the Wallabee in recent years, and the likes of Aries and C.P. Company have had their say on the Desert Trek, Brain Dead has gone typically left-field.

Brain Dead, which was founded by Kyle Ng and Ed Davis in 2014, prides itself on creating “clothing for a curious life", according to its website.

This approach has resulted in a reputation for creating eccentric-looking products, whether that’s as a part of a collaboration or one of its seasonal mainline collections.

Anyways, what's I'm getting at here is that Brain Dead’s Clarks collaboration is wonderfully zany. But then again, would you expect anything less of a brand whose entire business model is built on being exactly that?
