After several teasers we can finally show you the much-anticipated collaboration between high-fashion label Maison Martin Margiela and iconic footwear brand Converse. Staying true to themselves, the two brands worked on the Chuck Taylor All Star and the Jack Purcell. The two sneakers were given the white paint treatment, which has become a signature for Maison Martin Margiela over the years. The sneakers have been dipped in paint, including the outer sole, eyelets and laces. Below the paint you’ll find a premium Converse sneaker with a colorful upper. As the paint slowly breaks off, the color underneath is revealed, allowing each sneaker to become utterly unique. The dialogue between the hidden colorful upper and the French fashion house’s signature white paint makes the collaboration special while allowing both brands to shine.
The sneakers will be available in four colorways: Crimson Red, Black, True Navy and exclusive for Margiela – Vintage Sunflower Yellow. As part of the Converse First String Collection, the Converse Maison Martin Margiela sneaker collection will release on September 20 and will be priced at $200 USD/€200 euros.
