Editor’s Notes: Converse is running into walls again, specifically Samuel Ross' A-COLD-WALL*.

Yep, A-COLD-WALL* and Converse reunite for another spin at the Chuck Taylor sneaker, with Ross honoring the shoe in its classic state — just with a few ACW tweaks, of course.

Arriving in "Pavement" and "Silver Birch," A-COLD-WALL* x Converse Chuck 70 sneakers take on an aged look, perhaps as a nod to the shoe's 100th anniversary in 2022.

A faded canvas upper joins a deliberately worn-looking translucent toe box and sole on A-COLD-WALL*'s Chuck Taylors, emulating the essence of the shoe in its 100-year-old glory and A-COLD-WALL*'s design ethos.

In addition to the muted color palette, ACW's ominous square block and industrial-esque numbering on the shoe's upper undoubtedly speak to A-COLD-WALL*'s minimalist and workwear-focused taste.

ACW and Converse chose to honor the Chuck 70's OG look this go-around as part of Ross' desire to repurpose a DIY Chuck he created for the first ACW* collection.

But, like the 2020 linkup, the partnership will be — if I may — rebooting once again for the Chuck 70 Geo Forma, which is basically another Chuck 70 boot expected to drop before the year is out.

For now, A-COLD-WALL* and Converse are giving the Chuck Taylors its much deserved 100th birthday kudos — until it gets the boot later this year (pun intended, because Chucks are here to stay).
