Converse Japan is once again bestowing another unique and interesting release upon the people of the region with this Chuck Taylor All Star Turndown. Available in two colors, brown and white, the sneaker takes on Native American inspired details with its leather turn-down and beaded tassels. The white pair is definitely the winner of the two, in our opinion. What do you guys think? These are now available at Converse Japan.

Today Converse unveiled four distinct design concepts for the newest footwear collaboration with the world-famous virtual band, Gorillaz. Launching in February 2012, the styles from the Spring 2012 collection combine the iconic Chuck Taylor All Star silhouette with the band’s legendary graphic images. Award-winning designer and Gorillaz co-creator Jamie Hewlett has designed exclusive prints incorporating elements from their ground breaking artwork. Each design melds their diverse backgrounds and unique influences to create a revolutionary collection. The partnership with Gorillaz will also include a Converse “Three Artists. One Song” original track titled “DoYaThing” featuring Gorillaz, James Murphy and Andre 3000 of OutKast. The free track will be available for download at www.converse.com on February 23, 2011.

Not the first Converse sneakers with a design inspired by the iconic leather motorcycle jacket, the brand has decided to release an entire pack for Spring/Summer 2012. Staying true to the jacket, the Chuck Taylor comes both in high top and low top versions, featuring premium leather uppers, red linings and of course zipper details. All of them are now available from the Converse online store.

Converse Japan continues to work with Nintendo and their Mario franchise for Spring 2012. Having previously released two versions of the Chuck Taylor Hi (see them again here and here), it was now the time for the One Star low top sneaker to get the Super Mario Bros. treatment. It comes in a black and a white premium leather version, with the Converse star logo being replaced with the star icon from the iconic video game. Furthermore the colors of the sneaker have been adapted to the signature colors of the Super Mario character and the Super Mario Bros., Mario and Luigi, are printed on the heel of the sneakers.

The Converse Japan One Star Super Mario Bros. OX will release March 2012.

Missoni and Converse have already unveiled some great Fall/Winter 2012 shoes that are definite contenders for sneakers of the year, but noticeably absent from that preview was the Chuck Taylor. The two have released a few already that were definite hits, so we figured it was only a matter of time for more to surface. SOPHNET did not only work with Barbour, but also with Converse as part of their Spring/Summer 2012 Collection. The iconic Chuck Taylor All Star Hi gets the zipper treatment. Keeping a classic navy canvas appearance on white outer soles, the sneaker features side-zippers for easier access.

Converse collaborates with Bedwin & The Heartbreakers designer Masafumi Watanabe on the JP Johnny Duck Boot Hi. Inspired by traditional LL Bean Duck Boots, the sneakers come in a water resistant brown rubber/light brown leather colorway with rubber outer sole.

The partnership between Converse and Missoni has yielded some very memorable footwear, namely the Chuck Taylors the two have produced. This time around, 2 different sneakers, the Pro Leather and Auckland Racer, have been worked on for the Autumn/Winter 2012 season by the famed brands. The Pro Leather continues to utilize Horween Chromexcel leather, which we have seen recently with a couple of hi versions of the shoe. The Auckland Racer turned out amazing with its complex blend of patterns and colors making it a must pick up when it drops in October of this year.

Converse Japan links up with Bape founder NIGO for their premium Converse Addict line. It looks like NIGO went with simple black and white canvas options for the upper of the Chuck Taylor High, added side zippers and of course these come with Vibram outer soles, just like all Converse Addict styles.

Look out for a release on March 10th, 2012.

We just presented the new Converse Japan collaboration with Undefeated Japan and here is now right away another one out of Japan. Here Converse gets together with retailer Beauty & Youth by United Arrows. They worked on the Jack Purcell in two canvas colorways. As usual the retailer keeps it clean and classic, with the logos only placed on the in-sole. We also like the subtle choice of laces on the sneaker.

A released for the Beauty & Youth x Converse Jack Purcell Spring 2012 is scheduled for February 2012.

For Spring 2012, Undefeated Tokyo has worked with Converse Japan on the All Star All Good TYO Hi. Inspired by ancient and modern Tokyo, the contrasting worlds are worked into the sneaker. The entirely reflective upper, imitating the lights of the city, represents the modern Tokyo, while the Edo-komon print on the lining and old Tokyo city map on the in-sole represent the ancient Tokyo.

The Undefeated Japan x Converse Japan All Star All Good TYO Hi sneaker is scheduled for a February 2012 release.

When one thinks of Converse, immediately Chuck Taylors and Jack Purcells come to mind, but one style that always keeps it thorough is their One Star sneakers. This J Monkey Boot version comes in 2 colors: black with white contrasting stitching, and a beige with burgundy colored leather on the side Star logo, toe and tongue areas. Both shoes are comprised of a leather and suede mixed upper, with what appears to be a slightly off-white sole. And for the boot inspiration, the cord laces take care of that. Both shoes are available at Converse Japan.
