As with many Port Tanger frames, the Mektoub is made predominantly by hand in Japan using complete cellulose acetate. The square style gets its name from a philosophical Arabic saying, meaning “it is written,” and ultimately draws from the synchronicity between land and sea. With curved frames as its signature, Port Tanger designs glasses like the Mektoub to embrace nearly every facial structure.
