The HN2-S Protoblast from Asics may not have Kiko Kostadinov’s name on it, but his influence is certainly there. While not an official collaboration, the retro-futuristic silhouette is a product of Asics working in tandem with the Kiko Kostadinov Studio to deliver an energized model meant to inspire movement. It borrows elements from key Asics silhouettes, with the upper pointing to the GEL-100 series, while the tooling and the toe reference the GELHOOP 6 volleyball shoe. The cushioning mirrors that of the Novablast 2 runner, although the Protoblast is recalibrated for lifestyle use. As with most Kiko-influenced Asics, it’s all about the colorway and this particular pair is no different, showcasing a minty green look ideal for spring and summer wear.
