adidas Originals Consortium ZX500 OG

Following on from the Tabula Rasa and Your Story collections, the next chapter in the adidas Consortium delves back into the archive of 3-Stripes to deliver a faithful reproduction of one of the most influential running silhouettes of all time, the ZX500.

Upon its introduction in 1984, the ZX 500 was a welcome addition to the world of middle to long distance running and made an instant impression with a range of technological advances that were exclusive to team Trefoil. From the extended TPU heel counter for added stability, to an EVA midsole that sat on a unique outsole, the streamlined profile quickly garnered critical acclaim from the jogging fraternity.

This take on the classic ZX 500 revisits one of the original color-ways. It features an ice grey suede overlay on a mesh base - a timeless combination while red accents pop off on the Trefoil branded heel tab and tongue tag. The midsole is contrasting grey and white and split by a stepped foxing strip, which adds to the overall clean appeal of the silhouette. As well as the extended heel counter, the Ghillie lacing system adds further comfort and fit while the mesh toe box brings maximum breathability to the upper.

In line with the new subtle premium creative direction of the range, Consortium branding is only in the form of the small metal eyelet dissecting an accented tongue tag, the back of which features the recognisable handshake logo.

The new adidas Originals Consortium ZX500 OG will be available starting July 21st at No6 in London, and No74 in Berlin, as well as select Consortium partners.
