Highsnobiety

Do you know what they call a Quarter Pounder with cheese in Paris? I don’t, but maybe Action Bronson can fill in here.

Born and bred in Queens, New York, the eccentric chef turned rapper turned TV personality turned author turned olive oil enthusiast turned pro wrestler has accumulated an extensive resume that spans multiple disciplines– most of which have little to no correlation.

For his next act, AB takes the helm at the Parisian nightclub-restaurant hybrid Wanderlust to construct its menu for summertime, adding international chef de cuisine to his amalgamated list of titles.

As part of the tenth birthday celebration of the iconic late-night spot, Bronson brings a taste of American culture to one of the world’s largest food capitals, leveraging his unique point of view to merge the art of gastronomy with classic street cuisine– two lanes that feel are very familiar to the dynamic Mr. Baklava.

“Anytime I can create a menu, it’s happiness,” admits Bronson when asked about his latest residency. “It brings me joy to cook for people and bring new ideas to life. Old classics, my way.”

Available from June 16 to September 17, a lineup consisting of smash burgers and merguez leads the special menu with a loaded french fries concoction and a corn butter cheese recipe among the side options. For those that like a sweet treat to round out their meal, Bronsonlino curated a diverse dessert spread that includes orange granita, fried peach pie, and ricotta with honey and olive oil.

Highlighting the culinary creations, the modern-day Renaissance man gave us his take on French bread pizza– get it, because Paris. Garnishing a fresh baguette with your choice of ham and comté cheese, tomato and mozzarella, or garlic, olive oil, and chili seasoning, everyone’s favorite Albanian auteur turns a simple Americana dish into a gourmet plate fit for a Michelin star eatery.

When asked about the process that went into crafting the custom meal options, the unconventional foodie plainly stated, “It’s just what I like to eat. You take things that are already there, and you get creative.”

Wanderlust, Wanderlust, Wanderlust

Debuting in conjunction with Wanderlust’s updated event space, which features a brand-new sound system and lighting structure to immerse partygoers in a world of euphoria, Bronson’s hand-selected menu of eclectic bites fits the ethos the famed nightclub has abided by from the beginning.

Since opening its doors ten years ago, Wanderlust has offered a space for vibrant life to thrive, devoid of judgment and full of pure self-expression. From the rhythmic DJ sets of Kaytranada and Jazzy Jeff to performances from chart-topping artists like A$AP Rocky and Wizkid, the renowned Parisian terrace proudly exists as a home for diverse cultures to meet, be seen, and be celebrated.

As a collab that tops any celebrity McDonald’s meal we've seen thus far, the latest completed side quest from Bronson should hold us over as we patiently for his next big career move– maybe he'll finally realize his hoop dreams after all these years.
