Ajax has unveiled the official campaign for its new Bob Marley-inspired third kit, crashing the club website within minutes.

The adidas shirt has been building a lot of hype since leaking a couple of months back and is undoubtedly one of the best releases this summer. It sports a black base with Rastafari-inspired red, yellow, and green on the three stripe motif and sleeve cuffs. The back of the jersey’s collar features a symbol of three little birds sitting on Amsterdam’s Andreas crosses.

The link between the Amsterdam club and Marley goes back to the fans, who adopted his "Three Little Birds" song as a club anthem.

adidas has also teed up some lifestyle items to compliment the jersey. These include a track top, a track pant, sweater, T-shirt, and a pair of Sambas featuring the same red, yellow, and green color scheme and the Ajax badge.

“I am beyond touched that Ajax has taken Three Little Birds and made it their anthem. Stories like this warm my heart and show how impactful songs like Three Little Birds can be. Soccer was everything to my father… and to use his words ‘football is freedom’”, said Cedella Marley of the range.

Find out more about the kit here and watch out for Ajax wearing it in Europe this season.
