Over the last few years, we’ve witnessed a collective shift toward more conscious health practices. From cold showers following DIY yoga in the park to the much-needed hot girl walk after spilling all those deep thoughts into your journal, productivity is an all-day endeavor.

While taking a daring cold plunge or giving reverse jogging a try (yes, it is actually a thing) may not be for everyone, implementing a solid routine is proven to do wonders for those with a hectic life schedule.

When I have free time I try to be as intentional as possible. Usually, I wake up around 7:30 and start the day by making tea and breakfast and reading the news.

Following my mornings, I like to go play tennis at the park next to my building. I just started playing a few months ago, so I’m not great — but I’m hooked! Then I'll hit the grocery store to stock up for the upcoming week.

In between all of this, I take my dog for his daily walks and make sure he's taken care of while I'm home.

Around dinner time, I'll cook with my boyfriend before we settle in to catch up on any of the shows we've been watching–– right now, season 2 of The Bear is at the top of our list.

My nighttime routine is integral to helping me wind down after a day full of activities. I start by brushing my teeth and washing my face. Then I apply my actives, either retinol or an exfoliating acid. I'm not usually a serum person, but I've started incorporating Estée Lauder's Advanced Night Repair Serum into my lineup, followed by moisturizer.

Once in bed, I scroll TikTok or listen to a podcast while slathering myself in body butter. Before turning the lights off, I set my phone down and take a moment to reflect on the day I just had.

For me, having a consistent routine throughout the week is challenging. Given the nature of my job, living in NYC, and my varying levels of involvement in different creative projects, finding a set amount of time to focus on myself is an effort.

Whenever I do have an off day, though, the thing I hate to waste it. I think recovery and rejuvenation are active endeavors. Instead of laying in my bed or watching TV on my couch, I like to spend my days being active and listening to whatever it is my body needs.

Sometimes that will be a run, or yoga, or even a more intense workout. Other times, it might just be going to a coffee shop I like or putting on a good fit and walking through downtown Manhattan. I don't get much time to cook throughout the week, so when I do have a free day, I like to slow down and make myself a hearty meal from scratch.

Every off day is different for me, but as long as I feel like I've done something productive to enrich myself or take care of myself in a way I haven't necessarily been able to throughout the week, that re-energizes me and gets me ready for the next challenge ahead.

I'm a new mom and have just (finally) figured out some kind of routine! I try to wake up before my family and set the tone/energy for the day. I light candles in the morning, make French-pressed coffee, and listen to NPR as I plan my boy's meals, outfit, and activities for the day.

On days when I am in the office, I have a condensed morning skincare routine to keep me feeling fresh and rejuvenated throughout my day. Once I'm in the office, you can count on me to get the same green juice and sandwich for lunch (I like routine). After I commute home, the first thing I do is greet my partner, boy, and dog, then I'll throw some music on around the house–– we always have something playing! On days that I can, I'll squeeze in dance fitness classes or go for bike rides around my neighborhood.

My end-of-day routine is much more involved. My sister-in-law gave me a tip a few years ago to have "spa showers" - and I have never gone back! Multiple candles are lit, lights are dimmed, and I flip between Sade and Toni Braxton as I prep my night-time skincare and haircare regimen, before calling it on the day.
