Editor’s Notes: ASICS continues to add to its Modern Tokyo pack with two new colorful iterations of the GEL KAYANO 5 and the GEL KINSEI. Much like the city, the pack celebrates the crossover of heritage and modernity, delivering forward-thinking takes on two of the brand’s most celebrated OG running silhouettes.

The GEL KAYANO 5 and GEL KINSEI first released in 1999 and 2006 respectively and were both instantly lauded as advanced thanks to their innovative use of the brand’s signature GEL technology. Last year, both models relaunched in their OG designs and have since been reworked in a number of timely colorways and collabs.

The Modern Tokyo drop sees the GEL KAYANO 5 decked out in blue, with the upper boasting a royal blue mesh base and light blue leather overlays. The GEL KINSEI takes it one step further with a full neon yellow mesh and leather upper, formstripe, and GEL heel.

Check out both versions above and look for them to drop at asics.com on April 16.
