Editor's Notes: Charlotte Cardin released her second studio album 99 Nights (2023) in August to high acclaim (the song Confetti is sitting at over 17.5 million Spotify listens at the time of writing) and she's now offered a behind-the-scenes look at the making of the album — and the shoes she wore.

Moving between her Parisian apartment, a studio, and a record store, she invited ASICS over to watch her finalize her album while wearing her new collaborative sneaker with the Japanese brand — because "Nothing feels better than creating and moving with ASICS," according to the collaboration's tagline.

The singer has created a limited-edition version of the brand's EX89 sneaker, a retro basketball shoe based on its 1989 GEL-EXTREME model that's been brought back from the archives for casual wear.

Decked out in a clean, all-white colorway, the shoe is detailed with contrasting hits of ash blue and icy brown.

The simple court shoe comes with a less sporty look than the athletic footwear ASICS is best known for today, putting focus on its basketball heritage. Launched in 1950, it was in fact a basketball shoe that started it all for ASICS.

Releasing on October 4, these shoes arrive midway through the Canadian singer's worldwide tour. If you're wondering what to wear to the next Charlotte Cardin show, these shoes are surely the answer.
