Editor’s Notes: Legendary California streetwear brand Freshjive draws on founder Rick Klotz's history in Los Angeles punk rock culture circa 1980 for the first drop of its Spring 2020 collection. Growing up as bored, disillusioned kids in a suburban wasteland, the collection references styles of that era including solid and plaid twill pullovers, trench jackets, cheetah pattern long-sleeves, baggy twill shorts, faux fur pullovers, earth-colored stripe polos and plaid shirts, flannel pajama-style pants, baggy denim, pleated canvas chinos, vertical stripe zip-up workshirts, and pattern-printed flannel shirts.

Graphic executions include the previously mentioned "No Fear" logo flip, The Smiths, "Hard Times in Los Angeles," and an update of Freshjives' "Never Mind Idols Devoid Of Culture."

Featured in the background of some shots are Monty M. and Crazy Tom of DFL, and according to Freshjive's press release, "if I need to clue you in to DFL, then perhaps you need to do a little more cultural homework." The appearance by the two band members serve as a teaser for a project the brand has coming up.
