Highsnobiety

LG teamed up with NTS, a global online radio station and music platform to host a one-of-a-kind mood-shifting party at CAN, Berlin. The “Notes + Tones” experience commemorated the brand’s all-new kitchen innovation, the LG MoodUP™ fridge.

Featuring all of the luxury design and practical functions of a high-performance refrigerator, the LG MoodUP™ also flexes dynamic color-changing door panels that you can control from your phone and built-in Bluetooth speakers. Essentially, MoodUP™ has all the “ingredients” to customize a vibe in a category we never thought possible.

As a nod to MoodUP™, “Notes + Tones” showcased its own set of moods by incorporating color, sound, and flavor all under the same roof for a night of ultimate self-expression that cued all five senses.

Throughout the night, guests were encouraged to experience different set moods from ‘Roots’ — a mix of warm, natural tones, reggae and jazz, and flavors like whiskey and smoke to ‘Sky’ — bright, bold hues, glossy electronica, and punches of rum, mango, and absinthe. Representing NTS, DJ Louise Chen played a 5hr set, with musical styles and genres shifting with the curated moods.

To get firsthand opinions on the event, we sent a couple of trusted critics to attend and report back. See more below.

What is your favorite feature of MoodUP?

What I enjoyed the most was the "knock knock" lights on effect. It's so satisfying, I could do that all day long.

What was the biggest highlight from the event?

The cocktails were delicious and the atmosphere provides really good vibes thanks to the lights and music.

If you had MoodUP in your home, which color would you set it up and for what mood?

It would always be set to green. To me, that color symbolizes hope! Or maybe a nice turquoise tone to freshen up the space.

What was your favorite feature of MoodUP?

My favorite feature about MoodUP is the color-changing feature. It can easily change the whole atmosphere of the room.

What was the biggest highlight from the event?

At the event, there was an amazing selection of drinks that were divided into different themes. My favorite drink was the “Dimensions Tomorrow” from the “Sky” card.

If you had MoodUP in your home, which color would you set it up and for what mood?

If I had MoodUP, I would put it on the pink/beige setting. That would set the perfect vibe for a relaxed movie evening.

What was your favorite feature of MoodUP?

My favorite feature is the minimal design and actually the "knock-knock on" feature.

What was the biggest highlight from the event?

The biggest highlight was that next to the colorful and tasty drinks, I was able to have interesting conversations with new people.

If you had MoodUP in your home, which color would you set it up and for what mood?

I think my color way would be either purple or green because those are my favorite colors to see in homey spaces.

What was your favorite feature of MoodUP?

My favorite feature of MoodUP was its ability to play music. I love listening to my playlists while cooking and it’s so fun to have a refrigerator that is also a loudspeaker. It makes cooking and baking a lot more enjoyable!

What was the biggest highlight from the event?

My personal highlight of the event was the changing cocktail menu. I loved that the drinks were inspired by the different moods and colors of MoodUP. My personal favorite was the Life’s Good cocktail from the menu Island, it was one of the tastiest cocktails!

If you had MoodUP in your home, which color would you set it up and for what mood?

If I had MoodUP in my home I would set it up in the color green or dark blue. Both colors have such a calming vibe and they immerse the kitchen in a relaxing atmosphere. Since one of my kitchen walls is painted green, the green color of the MoodUP refrigerator would match perfectly. The colors are also perfect for when you come home after a long day at work and you’re just in a winding down kind of mood.
