Earlier this summer, you may have seen the $1,000 price tag attached to less than a quarter of a shirt from French fashion house Maison Margiela. Now, in preparation for colder nights to come, the designer label has bucked up its ideas with something only marginally more practical. This black V-neck sweater is once again incomplete — with just the skeleton of what makes up an actual sweater to be seen — and can be yours for the not so incomplete price of $940.
The layering piece is a far cry from other Team Cozy pieces dropping in FW18, and while it's product description boasts 100 percent wool materials, it doesn't take a fashion expert to see that, in fact, this is made from 90 percent... well, nothing. Seen modeled on top of more traditionally constructed sweaters or simply worn bare-chested, it's a statement if nothing else.
Never one to shy away from pushing the boundaries of fashion, the new release comes amidst sneaker iterations like the glue-covered Fusion sneakerboot and the Fusion Tabi hybrid. But while we have plenty of time for Margiela's footwear output, we're still on the fence about this one.
If, however, you think you can rock the look, click through below to rep Margiela to the bare minimum.
