Every June, I spend three weeks with some of the most fashionable, interesting, and dedicated people in the world, celebrating new collections from the best designers from around the world. That final stop is always Paris, where Fashion Week somehow starts before the city even wakes up.
This season, though, it felt like the sun never actually set. Record-breaking temperatures had me looking forward to every bike ride between shows just to catch a small breeze. Funny how the best part of your day can become the five minutes in between.
While I was attempting not to sweat all over my new Meta Glasses, the Berlin Highsnobiety team has been working hard in preparation for our PFW tennis tournament. Even though I didn’t play, watching our Editor-In-Chief, Noah Johnson, back up all the trash talk was just as good.
There was just enough time afterward to head to the hotel and change into fresh clothes before the Louis show. Huge waves were made from the clothes to the literal set.
My feet had finally caught up with all the miles. I stopped by our friends at Salomon and grabbed a pair of their newest collab in this crazy (good) blue colorway. Hours later, I walked into the Off-White party and found myself standing in an entirely blue room. Sometimes all of Paris is in sync.
The night carried on as I slid through to Bus Palladium for the Highsnobiety party we hosted at the iconic venue. A night so exclusive that I couldn’t document; you’ll just have to trust me when I say it was one of those nights better to just remember.
Later in the week, Emily Dawn Long welcomed us into her showroom and showed us a stack of T-shirts — I bought one on the spot.
Between all the shows, I probably took more reference photos than personal photos. The POV from the Meta Glasses definitely helps to recall exactly what I was seeing and saying in the moment. So many great pieces — I’m already taking stock of what I want to see in some upcoming shoots. Eventually, the Paris homies convinced me to stop thinking about clothes for a moment and think about some dessert. Sometimes peer pressure isn’t so bad after all.
As everything slows down, I finally found time for a quiet walk through the city. I stayed on the shaded side of the street while the youngins cooled off by swimming in the canal, making the most of this moment. The bike rides. The conversations. The shows. The beautiful moments, above and beyond the actual happenings, are what I’ll remember most. Can’t wait to see it all again next year.
