Pièces Uniques

Paris-based Pièces Uniques explores our natural surroundings, delving into the space "BETWEEN SKY AND EARTH" for Fall/Winter 2021.

Edmond Luu founded Pièces Uniques in 2016 as a creative outlet and has since focused the brand into a reliable source of streamlined, contemporary wearables. Luu describes his label's ethos as a revival of our childhood dreams – a reinterpretation of the imaginary harnessed to create new worlds through timely tailoring and fabrication.

These dreamscapes at the heart of the Fall/Winter 2021 collection are brought to life through a short movie directed by Bilal El Kadhi.

An ode to freedom, the film frames the natural inspirations that form the backdrop of the apparel, offering stunning contrasts of snowy mounts and the blue depths of sky and sea. It's no accident that these contrasts are so bold, as color sits at the center of the artistic direction for both the collection and visual treatment.

A palette of beige, blue, and grey is pulled directly from elements of the natural world and applied to the full range of modern tailoring. FW21 is a marked evolution for the brand, with the core product line receiving updated silhouettes and fabrications. The brand's consideration of shape is the template for the everyday uniform, what Luu refers to as L'Homme Pièces Uniques.

One key piece within the collection is a collared bomber jacket, complete with an exaggerated collar straight out of the '80s, patchworked applique on the sleeves, and subtly contrasting embroidered branding. It speaks to Pièces Uniques design language: not rooted in any particular era and yet of the here and now. What's old is made new.

You can shop the Pièces Uniques FW21 collection on the Pièces Uniques web store and at Selfridges.
