Rhude Spring/Summer 2022 Men’s. Beverly Hills

Editor's Notes

For his Spring/Summer 2022 collection, Rhude founder Rhuigi Villaseñor brought Monaco energy to Beverly Hills, inside at a gigantic, pink, Mediterranean-style estate — where scenes from 1972’s “The Godfather” were filmed.

Invitations read, "Monaco, With God's Help," and the LA-based brand delivered Monte Carlo levels of glamour and celebrity. Blending formality and informality from classic suiting silhouettes meant to be worn as we re-enter days and evenings out.

Rhude

The post-pandemic energy was palpable and celebrities turning up in full force, and full Rhude attire. Among those in attendance was Lena Waithe, Saweetie, Cynthia Erivo, Karrueche Tran, Slick Woods, Big Sean, DJ Mustard, French Montana, Tyga, Tylah Yaweh, PnB Rock, Wale, Thundercat, Wurld, Evan Ross, Shaun Ross, Zack Bia, Elijah Kelley, and athletes Jaylen Brown, Saquon Barkley, Kyle Kuzma, Sterling Shepard, Todd Gurley. Meanwhile, the producer Metro Boomin closed out the catwalk.

Metro Boomin's Satin Jacket

Metro Boomin was the last model to walk the Rhude SS22 runway, cheered on by a star-studded crowd of LA royalty. His satin jacket encapsulated the mood and intention of the collection; synthesizing the luxury and glamour of Monaco while remaining relaxed and informal enough to wear all summer long.

The creamy satin jacket with emerald green paneling features embroidered dice, gambling chips, and symbols associated with a night out in Monte Carlo. The casual fit of the varsity-style jacket is offset by a white shirt and black tie, as well as a dazzling, diamond-encrusted crucifix and mustard loafers.

Chain Mules

Post-pandemic dressing can be tricky. Rhuigi Villaseñor spent lockdown reflecting on what the youth will be wearing as they come out of months spent at home and this all-white boilersuit captures the optimistic spirit for our new world that is both practical, unexpected and completely summer-ready.

Cream Leather Jacket

Villaseñor takes inspiration from several decades, from the 60’s Rat Pack, the roaring Twenties, and the ever classic Slim Aaron’s. Rhuigi intends the Spring Summer 2022 collection to encapsulate these genres with the Rhude twist. The luxurious cream leather jacket ties together is one of our favorites from his latest range of throw-on jackets in new fabrications with a touch of classic tailoring.

Silk Camp Collar Bowling Shirt

Silk and cashmere are core fabrications, while knitwear & clean lines enhance the overall aesthetic. Each element evokes longing for the perfect Monaco vacation.
