Winter By SOREL: Caribou Boots, Coffee Cups, and the Coolest Truck in Town
This winter, SOREL proved once again why they’re the masters of making the colder season feel kind of… fun? Slush, wind, and unexpected rain aren’t that annoying when you’re wearing something that makes you feel low-key invincible. Taking weatherproof performance wear and turning it into something stylish has always been the SOREL sweet spot.
With that in mind, it makes perfect sense that SOREL now has a vehicle that embodies the same personality as their footwear. The SOREL Arctic Truck is a customized Defender transformed into a real-life snow machine—the Caribou boot’s energy on wheels. This is a truck that looks like it could handle a snowstorm and take you downtown for coffee afterwards. And instead of keeping these powerhouse vehicles in some glossy showroom, SOREL is bringing them straight to the people, parking at the coziest spots in each city: Bonanza Coffee in Berlin, White Coffee in Paris, and Ozone Coffee in London.
Elsewhere, SOREL had more tricks up its sleeve: the interest of passers-by was piqued by the Horizon collection—an urban-forward selection of boots with the Caribou DNA at its heart—frozen into giant ice blocks at in London's Shoreditch, Berlin's Hermannplatz, and Paris' République. The installations acted as a minute expression of SOREL's native climate, a physical embodiment of its arctic roots.
At the pop-ups each customer got a shot at pulling a raffle ticket. You could either win a pair of Sorel shoes (arguably the jackpot), a free coffee or pastry, or even a trip with the Defender. And yes, sometimes you pulled a blank ticket, but even the little spark of suspense added to the fun. Add Sorel-branded cups, the best sweet treats, and the collective buzz of strangers all hoping their ticket is the one, and suddenly winter feels warm and inviting.
By the end of each pop-up, it was clear: SOREL isn’t just about boots, it’s about bringing adventure to every step of the journey. And honestly? If winter always looked like this, we’d happily sign up for a few extra months.
