Editor’s Notes:

SUPRA and legendary pro skater Chad Muska come together for a fresh take on the original Skytop 001 designed by Muska himself. Dubbed the Skytop 77, the redesigned silhouette opts for premium full-grain nubuck ensuring the suede is buttery soft while the modernized design makes Muska wish the Skytop was originally released this way in the first place.

“It really recharged my love for this shoe that’s been on the market for over 11 years. I almost feel as if it should have always been made this way,” explained Muska in a press release. "

The OG Skytop first hit shelves back in 2007 and was well received by skaters, but it wasn’t until the following year that the silhouette started gaining momentum with celebrities and hip-hop artists. Spotted on everyone from Kanye West to Lil Wayne, to Jay Z, the original Skytop was a sneaker ahead of its time and could have easily passed for designer kicks that were five times its price.

While the Skytop 77 saw exclusive launches at Rime NYC and Slam City in London last month, both colorways are available globally beginning August 1 at select retailers and SUPRA’s online shop.
