Last month we got our first look at Fox Searchlight's upcoming J.R.R. Tolkien biopic, simply titled Tolkien. The film sees Nicholas Hoult starring as the legendary author alongside Lily Collins, who portrays Tolkien's love interest.

Tolkien reverts back to the early years of J.R.R. Tolkien, as he befriends a group of fellow outcasts who then come together to form the "fellowship." Their bond is seemingly unbreakable, until the outbreak of World War 1 threatens to rip it apart. Together, these experiences served to inspire Tolkien's highly influential Middle-Earth novels, ranging from The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit, to The Silmarillion.

Colm Meaney, Anthony Boyle, Patrick Gibson, Tom Glynn-Carney, Craig Roberts, Laura Donnelly, Genevieve O’Reilly, Pam Ferris and Derek Jacobi also feature in director Dome Karukoski's Tolkien, which is due out in theaters on May 10.
