Highsnobiety

This year marks 50 years of the adidas Superstar. A whole half-century of the Three Stripes' first-of-its-kind low top basketball silhouette. Starting out on the court in the '70s, then making its way to the feet of hip hop royalty in the '80s, the Superstar's history is a storied one. In 2020, the silhouette's prowess shows no signs of slowing, with a host of new spins and collaborations having already dropped this year or set for release.

This month, adidas is taking things back to the Superstar's basketball routes, dropping a collection of new colorways in time for the NBA All-Star Weekend 2020. Celebrating Chicago, as well as the people that call it home, adidas has created three new editions of the sneaker to coincide with the event.

You can find more info on the All-Star Weekend drops and where to shop them below. And in case the NBA-influenced pieces aren't quite your bag, we've also selected some of the more classic-leaning Superstar highlights, including a brand new Run DMC-honoring laceless Superstar.
