We all know adidas likes to flip out. The Three Stripes' Y-3 imprint has yet to meet a sneaker tongue it can't turn into something just a little bit edgier.

The Y-3 Predator Precision is Yohji Yamamoto's futuristic interpretation of adidas' best football sneaker.

Ok, well, I guess that depends on which side of the pitch you frequent, since some could argue the Samba is the most popular soccer shoe. But on the field? Oh, the Predator holds the top spot where the pitch is concerned.

Leather overlays top mesh paneling, which give the sneaker its luxury flavoring that's enhanced by the flipped-out tongue that wears Yamamoto's large Y-3 branding.

You won't find any spikes underneath this take on the Predator, since this isn't really that kind of party.

A predator without fangs is still a predator, right? Instead of metal cleats, the Predator Precision sports a treaded rubber outsole that's more equipped for walks to and from the concession stands, not so much any actual time on the green.

Other adidas collaborators like Wales Bonner have taken a similar interest in the soccer sneaker, with her snakeskin-print Predator boots worn on the field by Arsenal left-back Myles Lewis-Skelly in April. We're still waiting for a version that can be worn off the field, but since there are so many great iterations of the Predator circulating the ether right now, we can't be too greedy.
