Introduced in 1985, The Air Jordan 1 has gone on to become the archetypal basketball silhouette, birthing a multitude of different offshoots. Still, today, the design continues to adapt to environments far beyond the basketball court. Re-engineering Peter Moore's timeless low-top profile with weather-resistant armor, Jordan Brand introduces the Air Jordan 1 Element Low A/T.

The Air Jordan 1 Element Low A/T merges Jumpman heritage with true all-terrain function. The refurb equips the silhouette with waterproof GORE-TEX technology and hard-wearing paneling to transform an everyday lifestyle classic into a seasonal tank.

Drenched in a moody mix of Black, Iron Grey, and Dark Smoke Grey, the upper delivers a dark, tactical aesthetic engineered for autumn and winter elements. Admittedly, the varsity-inspired color blocking that usually graces the leather upper of an Air Jordan 1 is nowhere to be seen, and the alterations are so severe that you’d be forgiven for thinking that this design had nothing to do with the 1985 icon.

Waterproof GORE-TEX ripstop nylon forms the durable base of the upper, reinforced by premium leather overlays and a rubberized mudguard for full moisture protection. GORE-TEX branding sits at the bold red heel tab and tongue tab while a barely visible, tonal Wings logo adorns the heel.

A dark Iron Grey midsole houses Air cushioning in the heel for impact protection, resting on an aggressive, lugged rubber outsole engineered for wet urban terrain.

Sure, the Air Jordan 1 Element Low A/T might require you to squint a little before it reveals itself as an Air Jordan 1 at all, but once you clock it, it becomes a fun way to winterize the classic. If anything, this is an experiment in boundary pushing.
