Akon has revealed more details about Akon City, his own futuristic city in Senegal. Speaking to TMZ, the mogul discussed plans for the city's technologies, businesses, and more.

"We got the land," he began."We got all the licenses and everything to move forward. That's the update. I'm giving you the update. See, I've been working on this for about seven years trying to get the bases going and we finally secured the land."

Securing the land means that Akon City will be regulated as any other city. "There's already a city within the city. And I'm trying to create an area where I can work out with my partnership through the government to where it's a free zone."

According to Akon, the city will have state-of-the-art technology and will rely on Africa's mineral resources, without sourcing anything outside of the continent. "We want all the latest in future technologies. I don't want anything from the old days."

As far as what the city will look like, Akon plans to give us a preview on YouTube soon. "I'm about to reveal the whole city and what it's gonna look like through 3D rendering." Elsewhere, the Senegalese-born mogul wants Akon City to host successful companies, with plans to make into a "headquarter for all of Africa."

In January, Akon signed an official agreement with the Senegalese government. He also announced that Akon City will exclusively use its own cryptocurrency, Akoin.
