Highsnobiety

Ahh, the holidays. The most joyfully hectic time of the year. Between intimate family gatherings, binge-watching those same classic films you’ve seen again and again, and hustling to find just the right gift for everyone, there is little time to think about personal needs. Since this is technically the season of giving, who says you can’t give yourself a little taste of luxury every once in a while?

That’s why we’ve tapped some of our favorite creatives currently running the culture to share some of their personal splurges to help give some ideas on the best items to gift yourself this holiday season.

For Alexander-Julian Gibbson, gifts display appreciation for people and speak to the relationship between the giver and receiver. The Nigerian-American stylist and curator describes his taste as “methodically mad,” detailing that he shares a deep love for eccentric items that carry purpose and meaning with them. By exploring the intersection of style, travel, and culture, Gibbson has seamlessly woven his experiences and interests into the work he produces for the world to see.

When it comes to gift giving for the eclectic creative, treating yourself to a gift is a pure form of self-care, acting as an acknowledgment of personal progress and achievement. Check out some of Gibbson’s favorite items as a bit of inspiration for your very own wishlist this year
