Editor's Notes: Anna Sui's famous fur-trimmed dress is back in the spotlight.

The velvet frock, originally released as part of Sui's Fall/Winter 1998 collection, sparked an online frenzy back in March, when fashion blogger Casey Jackson — AKA @SeekTheFinds — tweeted about a Poshmark listing for the dress.

As luck would have it, Sui herself came across the tweet and messaged Jackson on Instagram: "Hi this is Anna Sui," the legendary designer's DM began. "I saw you sold this already but I was wondering if it would be possible for me to buy it instead? We don’t have this sample and it would mean a lot for me to have it in my archive."

But Jackson wasn't the buyer or the seller of the dress — vintage sourcer Ashley Narcisse managed the snag the ridiculously under-priced collectible, listed by California-based Poshmarker @clothed_minded1.

Narcisse hasn't heard from Sui, but the lucky buyer did make it clear: she has no intention of selling the garment.

Sui didn't get her dress back, but her loss is now our win. Putting an end to the saga, the designer announced she will reissue the now-legendary dress part of her Resort 2023 collection. That's called icon behavior!
