Curated and photographed at the Highsnobiety New York office, "Test Drive" is a series where we try on our favorite items of the season.

What's in a boyfriend sweater? The idea of women "stealing" their boyfriend's clothing for the oversized comfort is now well entrenched in marketing campaigns, so much so that we can't help but wonder if it's even worth gendering sweaters anymore. Technically, yes, every top here is from the men's section, but would you know if we didn't tell you? Some of the best "men's" pieces these days are indebted to feminine detailing dudes have finally come around to embrace, blurring the line even further.

So if you ask us, a boyfriend sweater is simply a sweater that looks great on everyone. And to model our selection, we enlisted Snoh Aalegra, the Swedish singer about to finish the first leg of her tour supporting her new album, Ugh, those feels again. While she goes all-out for her performance attire, she likes to keep it cozy offstage.

"I grew up looking up to Michael Jackson, Prince, Whitney [Houston], and all these legends, and I loved their stage outfits," she says. "I just think it's fun when you pay for a ticket to a show and you see something that you're not dressed like. It's boring if I'm dressed like everybody else in the audience. I want you to leave feeling something. But a typical Snoh, if you see me on like a Monday, I'll be in sweatpants."

The beauty of these pieces is that they can be dressed up or dressed down. If you've got a torso, we've got a sweater for you. Take a gander down below to see how to rock them.

Gucci V-Neck Wool Sweater

A preppy sweater doesn't mean you need to go full WASP. A punkish skirt, chunky boots, and crew socks escalates the piece to cool and sexy real quick.
