BMW yesterday unveiled its 2019 8 Series Coupe at the 24 Hours of Le Mans race in France.

The 8 Series, which goes on sale this month, will be offered in two versions. The top-of-the-range M850i xDrive features a 4.4-litre V8 petrol engine that produces 523bhp with 554lb ft of torque available between 1800rpm and 4600rpm. It can achieve 0-62mph in 3.7 seconds, with a limited top speed of 155mph.

The other launch model, the 840d xDrive, is powered by a 3.0-litre in-line six-cylinder diesel producing 316bhp and 501lb ft, with a 0-62mph time of 4.9 seconds.

Other noteworthy features in both models include Merino leather in the interior, customizable ambient lighting, 16-speaker Harman Kardon sound system, LED headlights with BMW LaserLight technology and more. Pricing details are still to be confirmed. Check out the car above.
