Since January 2019, Browns has been working with Good On You, the world’s leader when it comes to sustainability ratings of fashion labels. To reach its final rating, Good On You assesses a brand’s policies and practices in three main areas: people, planet, and animals. All of the ratings are based on industry standards, certifications, and a label’s in-house reporting.
So, any item that you find in the Browns Conscious Edit meets one of the following criteria: it may be made with more than 50 percent conscious or certified materials; the finished product holds an independent certification relating to good environmental, social, or animal welfare practice like Fairtrade; the product could be vintage or pre-owned; or the product comes from a brand that has earned a positive Good On You rating.
