The pandemic threw almost everything up into the air and only really now — a year and a half later — are we seeing how things might fall back into place. One of the biggest concerns for us was how the world of fashion would react. Fashion weeks were canceled and many brands encountered the hardest period of their existence. Luckily, though, style never dies. Some labels have used this chance to hone their craft while others have just continued doing their thing, but the Spring/Summer 2021 season is a strong one either way and these are the labels we’re really stanning this season.

With the help of MR PORTER, we’ve picked out five brands of the season ranging from Dries Van Noten to Kapital. They’re the labels that we can’t get enough of, and they take up a healthy portion of our spring/summer wardrobes. They’re not newcomers by any means — in fact, what really stands out is that each of the brands we picked has a strong, consistent aesthetic. Maybe it’s this consistency that we craved over the past year.

We also enlisted the help of Yulia Pankova, one of our experienced Market Editors, to tell us why these are the labels that stood out this season.

"I love to see what Loewe comes up with each season, and especially the whole Paula's Ibiza capsule which makes me excited to get dressed for the summer in the city.”

Dries Van Noten

"Whether you're tired of your minimalist wardrobe or always on the hunt for tasteful prints, this is the perfect brand for you. Lucky for us, we get an extra dose of Dries Van Noten exclusive prints this season from MR PORTER.”

"It doesn't get better or more simple than a new pair of suede/leather Birkenstocks, and I'm particularly excited to try out the Birko-Flor fabric — it's Birkenstock's answer to vegan leather.”

"I feel like KAPITAL's appeal is pretty much universal, because you can find some OTT statement pieces as well as more plain options which always feature signature designs and are underpinned by unrivaled quality.”

"Shopping BODE pieces is a genuinely educational experience. I think it's so fun to learn about the history of the materials which are used for the garments and it means that every piece from the label comes with a fascinating backstory and heaps of character.”
