Editor’s Notes: Valentino's creative director Pierpaolo Piccioli has linked with Craig Green for the first collaboration in its Rockstud X project. The project, which was announced last Fall, marks the 10th anniversary of the Rockstud accessories range by inviting designers, artists, and brands to interpret the brand’s signature stud.

Piccioli has been using the Rockstud to adorn heels and bags for the past decade, and the small metal stud had become a signature – and a celebrity favorite – of the Maison.

In true Craig Green fashion, the British designer’s take on the stud is not like anything the brand has released before. In direct collaboration with Piccioli, Green created a unique sculpted sole of Rockstuds – transforming the stud from a purely decorative feature into a functional part of the sneaker.

In contrast to the complex sole, the upper is clean, featuring a sock-like construction made from heavy canvas that gives a military feel to the sneaker. The color palette follows suit, offering up four earthy shades: Black, Light Ivory, Army Green and Deep Grey.
