Ewan McGregor stars as a grown Danny Torrance, now 40 years after the terrifying events at the Overlook Hotel. While still traumatized from his stay, Torrance has somehow managed to salvage some semblance of a normal life. However, when a young girl named Abra who possesses a similar extrasensory gift seeks Dan out, his peace turns to nightmare.

Abra and Dan eventually team up in attempts to stave off Rose the Hat and her followers, The True Knot, as they feed off such supernatural powers with hopes of achieving immortality. Now, Dan is forced to embrace his ability like never before in a life-or-death battle against Rose.

Rebecca Ferguson features alongside McGregor as Rose the Hat in Doctor Sleep, while newcomer Kyliegh Curran plays Abra in her feature film debut. Carl Lumbly, Zahn McClarnon, Emily Alyn Lind, Bruce Greenwood, Jocelin Donahue, Alex Essoe, and Cliff Curtis appear in the film as well, which comes to theaters November 8.
