As the curtain rises on the Dsquared2 FW24 Collection, a whirlwind transformation unfolds, blending the raw and the refined into a seamless sartorial symphony. The runway becomes a stage for more than a mere metaphor for the transformative power of fashion. Those in the audience look on, messy models trounce directly inside an otherworldly “makeover machine,” emerging reborn, restyled, and reinvigorated.

The captivating tale is spun by sets of twins, donning dual epitomes of Dsquared2 looks that traverse the brand's signature style codes, seamlessly transitioning from day to night. The illusion is fitting for a brand captained by the fashion world’s favorite set twins, Dean and Dan Caten.

The collection boldly draws a distinct line between raw and refined aesthetics, playing with fabrics, treatments, and silhouettes to create a striking visual narrative. The raw, embodying Dsquared2's rugged style, unveils ultra-detailed denim effects—jeans splattered in mud and snow, weathered check shirts attached to the waist, and distressed leather paired with fringed outerwear. The silhouette dance is a harmonious mash-up of oversized and slouchy, juxtaposed against cropped and body-skimming ensembles.

In contrast, the refined takes center stage in the evening wear, where tailoring reigns supreme. Evening wear for women is defined by harp and narrow lines define the silhouettes, complemented by plunging collars and swinging shiny metal jewelry adorned with colored stones. Luxury fabrications such as glossy pony, maxi sequins, python-print leather, and velvet cast a sultry sparkle over the refined pieces.

Each look in the collection undergoes a transformative journey while retaining an element of its origin. A men's pea coat seamlessly transforms into a pristinely double-breasted tailored tux, and a short puffer parka morphs into a faux-pony anorak.

Day looks for men feature jersey shorts, white cotton tanks, trapper hats, vintage shearlings, and worn denim, while the night ushers in a glow-up with transparent chiffon shirts, low-slung pants in sparkling velvet, and slinky lurex knits. The metamorphosis continues with women's layered looks transitioning from washed jersey and knits to floor-length skirts, feather-trimmed mini dresses, and silk jersey gowns revealing artfully wrapped, gathered, and cut-out sections.

Bags and shoes become extensions of this transformative narrative, with worn suede duffels and Gothic Belt Bags contrasting against back-to-back D2 clutches in satin and python-printed leather. Sneakers and army boots yield to slightly heeled men's boots and high-heeled ankle strap pumps for women, elongating the leg and accentuating elegance. Shimmering colored stones set into long polished gold metal chains complete the metamorphic journey, turning the Fall Winter 2024 runway into a captivating tale of fashion evolution.
