Devil Worship appears pretty chill in the new trailer for Hail Satan?

The documentary dives into one of the most controversial religious movements in American history. Watch above.

Directed by documentarian Penny Lane, the film follows members of the Satanic Temple movement as they fight for state recognition and to overthrow less-than-positive associations of devil worship.

“You’re gonna go to hell!,” a man shouts at a Satanic Temple member wearing a Baphomet (a Knights Templar deity) outfit. “I believe it,” he responds, “and I’m very excited about it.”

"The Satanic Temple was an idea between a number of people directly confronting authority," another Temple member explains in the trailer. "This makes life fun."

Hail Satan? was part of Sundance's official 2019 selection. Premiere date to follow.
