IKEA / Little Sun
1 / 3

Last year Olafur Eliasson's Little Sun announced a new partnership with IKEA at Sweden's Democratic Design Days. A year later and the collaborators give us our first glimpse at their initial solar prototypes as they look for new ways to harness the power of the sun while simultaneously raising awareness for global energy access.

Surrounding Democratic Design Days 2019, Little Sun and IKEA present SAMMANLÄNKAD, a new range of solar products that will contribute to sustainable and independent from electrical grid lifestyles. SAMMANLÄNKAD is Swedish for "connected," as the name of the collection references Little Sun's “We are all #ConnectedByTheSun” motto. As we all share the same sun and its power, Little Sun and IKEA are developing solar off-the-grid tools to attach to windows, charging docks, and lights for sustainable renewable energy.

The first products from Little Sun and IKEA are scheduled to release in 2021 in all IKEA markets.
