Editor's Notes: Since he first graced the page in the '50s, Le Petit Nicolas has been on countless adventures.
The lovable French cartoon character, originally drawn by Jean-Jacques Sempé using India ink and accompanied by red-colored text courtesy of René Goscinny, has been the subject of a series of books for over 50 years.
Both cheeky and mischievous, the character has proven to be highly popular with an estimated 20 million books sold worldwide, being translated into 45 languages, and adapted into film releases.
Our collaboration with the iconic range of children's books re-contextualizes graphics from its original releases, which you might recognize from your childhood, and uses them on a range of graphic wares.
Utilized on a grey hoodie as well as a selection of t-shirts, the capsule collection includes young Nicolas announcing "Paris, c’est chouette !" (or "Paris is great" for the non-French speakers) to bemused local residents as well as a more somber-looking Nicolas shouting "terrible !" (I'm sure you don't need that one translating).
Created by one of the most famous duos in children's literature, our graphic-heavy collection is an ode to the humor that Sempé and Goscinny embedded in their stories with Nicolas.
